Welcome to our lovingly cared for historic lodging.
Like a quaint inn or bed and breakfast, our guesthouse offers personalized service and beautiful private rooms, but differs in that the morning meal is not provided on premises. Our guests prefer to enjoy breakfast at one of the fabulous eateries within walking distance of Lionel Champlin Guest House. We do offer coffee/tea and light snacks and have common seating areas as well. We’ve recently converted our enclosed porch into a common guest kitchen and sitting room complete with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, dishware and coffee, so that no matter the hour, you can still get yourself a quick snack and relax in a beautiful space.

Our 2021 Renovation!
All rooms at Lionel Champlin Guest House have ensuite bathrooms and are provided with complimentary linens, cotton terry bathrobes, hair dryers & Wi-Fi. The common areas on the first floor include our newly-renovated common kitchen & sitting room with bistro tables and chairs, a full-sized guest refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven filtered cold & hot water for tea. We also have a comfortable living room with a fireplace, couches and easy chairs; a breezy porch, and a dining room with a farmer-style table for eating or game-playing.
All east-facing guest rooms have some water view toward Newport. You will be just a short walk to water and downtown shops and restaurants.
We also offer a place to keep your bicycles or kayaks.
Your hosts are knowledgeable about local area attractions and have suggestions for not-to-be-missed places. Whether you are in Jamestown for a weekend or a fortnight, we can help you maximize your time here and enjoy the best of what Southern Rhode Island has to offer.
If you have a special requirement, please do not hesitate to ask. We are able to provide special meals for larger groups, basic bicycle support, local restaurant and attractions reservations, and more.
